VIEW FROM ABROAD

View from abroad aims to show our foreign point of view on the people, the atmosphere,the customs, places and buildings of Glasgow. I have chosen to write poetry for different reasons. First, Poetry conjures up images, sounds and emotions and I felt it was the best medium for me to overcome my modesty to convey and share my feelings with others. I also wanted to create personal texts, off the beaten tracks, in my basic, broken but heartfelt English. Writing poems in English has allowed me to discover the many shades of Scott's, Burn's or Stevenson's language.
